El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la relación entre el nivel de la inteligencia emocional (IE) y el desempeño laboral (DL) de los ejecutivos durante el periodo de confinamiento por el brote del Covid - 19. Esta investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotético deductivo, tipo aplicada, nivel correlacional, con diseño no experimental y corte transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 109 colaboradores de tres áreas, sistemas, administrativos y comercial de la empresa. Los instrumentos obtuvieron un alfa de cronbach, IE (0.869) y DL (0.861). Los resultados indicaron una relación positiva moderada, con un Rho de Spearman (0.617), siendo la prueba significativa con un pvalor=0.000 <0.05. Se concluyó que a una mayor inteligencia emocional existe un a alto desempeño laboral. Corroborando lo explicado por Gong et al. (2019), Corbi et al. (2018), de manera similar Ngyan et al (2019).
